My default is a G23 in .40 S&W. In the beginning of CHL years ago, I was studying on what my daily carry would be (I was rotating between a S&W Model 36 and a full size Security Six) and was vacillating between the .40 and .45 ACP which was an internal argument between "decent" ballistics + capacity and "great" ballistics with a reduced capacity. Then in the middle of all that the first Texas CHL shooting occured. A single .40 S&W dropped a 400# Samoan that was beating on a smaller guy. So .40 it is.

Most of the time I carry 9mm in a sub-compact gun. I do sometimes carry a .45 ACP compact, but typically reserve that for my truck or house gun.

9 mm might expand but .45 ACP never shrinks.

.40 Beretta px4 full size my preferred carry.
or now that i have a holster i like
.45 Springfield XDm
.380 S&W Bodyguard when everything else is too "showy"

I have to know: What holster did you find for PX4? I'm still looking for "the right one" for mine.

I have to know: What holster did you find for PX4? I'm still looking for "the right one" for mine.

I bought a Don Hume IWB with a body shield. H715. Great fit and retention. Easy on and off.

I love carrying my Colt Defender .45acp but I end up carrying my XD9SC most often. When I'm out camping or such the .41 mag gets the nod.

I picked this up the other day S&W 686 .357 got it for a song and dance.
ie... a great price. only fired a few times in it's life. Checkering on grip still sharp. No marks on cylinder etc.. For the poll I will be carrying this one as soon as holster comes in.

Since I haven't figured out how to carry my AR pistol I carry my G26. Vote for 9mm, I enjoy the higher capacity.

I would however like to get a 9mm and a .45 as alternate carries some day.
