If he does that, he should also make sure to tell the hotel if their sign has any mistakes.
So they can correct it? :-)

Guys, you are over-reacting to those bills. They did NOT have anything to do w/30.06 signs. A TX legislator went to a gun show, bought some guns, left them in her hotel room and went out to eat. The maid found the guns, freaked, called the manager, who secured the guns ( and ticked off the legislator). She wrote/passed the bill that said if they do not want guns, they have to tell their patrons. Who among us want unsecured guns laying around our house, especially left by strangers?
The moral is: Don't leave your guns unsecured in your hotel room. DUH. Probably better locked in the trunk of your car.
Like Charles is trying to point out. If we call and ask the hotel what their policy is on guns, they 'may' say no guns. If we push, and push, and push, they may post 30.06 signs.
I don't recall ever seeing a 30.06 sign on a hotel. I'd assume they did not have one. Personally, I'm not going to got searching their website for their gun policies. (It's supposed to be prominent.) But, I am not going to leave my gun(s) unsecured in the room, either.

So you leave them in your car? I have had two cars broken into in Hotel parking lots. And most hotels no longer have safes at the front desk either. I get the whole don't push the issue thing, but shouldn't they tell you IF the are posted 30-06 if you ask? I would rather stay at a hotel where I can legally keep my protection with me in my room that one where I cannot.
And I still have not received an answer from the hotel. Posting my thoughts about the management would violate board rules. I am not going to the seminar.

I'm going to miss you guys but I definitely won't miss worrying if I'm doing a good enough job hiding my gun.

Is that because you won't be carrying at all or because you're going to an open carry state? Seems like there are problems with MWG calls in open carry states too... The 2nd amendment, at least as it was intended, is pretty much deal in urban America.

This is too good not to post.
Got my 'official' response from The State of Texas about enforcement of this statute. From the ombudsman, no less.

Can you tell me what agency would be responsible for enforcement of the above referenced statute?
Thanks

If their jobs can be replaced by Google that sounds like a good budget to cut.
