It's a complex issue without a simple perfect solution. I think most on here are trying to make sure people know and understand on what you are spending your hard earned money. Many people think they have coverage under their homeowners policy. Neither I have or my wife has seen one policy in 17 years of selling insurance and my wife with 25 years experience cover the intentional act of shooting someone. Now the accidental shooting or even the negligent shooting of someone that is not proven to be a criminal act, maybe.
How does [pre-paid legal] respond if you as a shooter is convicted of a crime for shooting someone? What about defending you against a civil suit if convicted? How much of the settlement will they cover?
At the time of a claim is the ultimate wrong time to find out what is covered. I think of he programs very similarly to prepaid legal services. They seem to over a lot but the really don't. That's just my opinion and not a slam to any one.
