The problem as I see it is that I wouldn't know it was a mistake until after I drew and fired. Until I am made aware that it is a mistake, I am being attacked and someone is trying to take my gun.

My thoughts exactly. Do you draw and issue commands for them to freeze? What if they don't heed your commands and one starts to take possession of the firearm? Do you shoot and risk killing one of the good guys?

I agree completely. In fact I've looked at this video a few times, pondered the scenario where I am abruptly tackled from behind. The more I've thought of it, I definitely would have been slicing & dicing the doofus. If I am walking with my knife already in a hand in my pocket, I can deploy it way faster than my concealed handgun.

Considering the only time I am going to Walmart is usually escorted. I think RAGINGWIFE1.0 would self deploy. God help him.

In Texas if you are assisting in what you believe is a legal arrest, including citizens arrest, then you are acting within the law and the action of stopping someone in and of itself doesn't create a cause of action. Basically if someone yells "stop thief!" you don't get the blame if you stop the person and they didn't steal.

Yep, all are accessories, and all should be in jail....though the tackler should get the stiffest sentence and the biggest legal bills.
