I just went through and emailed all of my reps as well. I'll report back if I hear anything from them.

I emailed my reps and gov. Worked like a charm. License was in print within 4 days of email. Of course, I had waited long enough that my info was already back from FBI and waiting to be worked.

You could always move to Alabama. It took my son, who lives in Loxley,AL 30 minutes to get his Alabama CHL from start to finish. I was amazed at the process. :)

I understand that technically the budget money is not there for DPS to add staff...BUT: it really is. Think about it this way:

The supervisor at DPS (whom the 21 current processors report to), told me that historically they've had about 55,000 applicants in process at any given time (or for a 6-week processing cycle, that's just under 10,000 applicants per week). Currently they're sitting on a backlog of 160,000 applications. The revenue to the state for the extra 105,000 applicants is $14.7 MILLION!!!! That buys ALOT of processors for a long time. If all-in costs for each employee was $100,000, then the extra funds would employ 147 processors.

Said another way, sure - the additional expense for more processors was not budgeted, but neither was the additional revenue.

The LTC licensing fees go to the General Revenue fund not Texas DPS. Neither do fines from tickets. http://www.texastransparency.org/State_ ... p41-45.php

And here is where the money goes by agency and category. The legislature meets for 90 days every two years to allocate money for programs.

I just got off of the phone with RSD. They have zero clue. There was a correction made to my CHL100 that needed to be initialed. I changed and initialed it and FAXed it to them as they requested. They did not receive it. That is what I learned. If I didn't call to find out I would have been mailed a letter and been further delayed. I will get them the paperwork this evening and be able to keep my original all in date of 5March2016. If you FAX a document there is no way for them to confirm receipt. :banghead:

Have patience.
Yep, 6 months easily. Their system is overwhelmed. Chill out. My renewal took closer to 60 days.
