It looks like he had one pipe inside another. That would be pretty hefty, Sched 40 or 80. At first I thought the pipe broke in half after he hit one of the guys, but after he comes up with two pieces, one section is as long as the original pipe.

He hit two guys wearing back packs. Although both guys saw him coming, neither took ofd his backpack to use as a shield.

Just like at the Dallas airport shooting, people see what he is doing but just stand around and watch. Then seem surprised when he runs at them. :confused5
I too wondered why people just stood there. Nobody did a thing. I feel like there are too many people out there that don't do a thing

A lot of it goes back to the mindset discussed here:
http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=84833

Most people do not mentally prepare themselves for anything like this, so they get stuck between the fight or flight mode and just stare. The brain doesn't recognize a threat, and then it freezes to the point that the guy can continue approaching and actually hit them before they are forced to act, and by then it may be too late.JMHO

Who knows what any of us would in that or a similar situation. I like to think that I'd let him get in a hit and then I'd shoot after he clearly attacked me without provocation - thereby providing a clear case of self defense.

That's what I'd like to think. OTOH, I dunno', if I tried to run it wouldn't be very fast. That said, maybe I'm to old and stove up to run, then it would have to be either take a beatin' or :fire Yep, that's about the size of it.

I predict mental issues with a strong probability of his brain containing too many of the wrong chemicals and not enough of the right ones.

Why did people stand around? They were waiting for the police to come and save them.

Why did not one of the some 350 patrons at the Orlando joint not charge the muslim murderer? Dead is dead whether you're shot in the front or the back. What would I have done, you ask. I would have done not been there in the first place.

YES. Having been hit with schedule 40 in my younger yrs I would not have given him a chance to hit me first (to help w the self-defense part) either. PVC is sufficient to beat someone to death with. I also am too old and stove up to run anyway.

The only way to win a fight is to not be there when it happens
