So if your status changes to application processing than they have already looked through everything, and there will be no problems?
No, I have been in training all week and can't call them. No letter as of today. I will be able to call on Thursday if I don't receive their letter on Wednesday. I'm bummed.
Cheer up, big guy! I'm sure that this is only a hiccup. I suspect that once you've spoken directly with DPS, you'll be able to sort it all out in a reasonable amount of time. We'll all get the plastic eventually, dude!

Of course, if you're actually an escaped convict or a documented sociopath, then I'm afraid that you'll be out of luck! That said, I'm gonna take a guess, and presume that you're a "good citizen." ;-)
...documented...well...just kidding! No, it says missing information so it is some dumb clerical error, but I can't figure out what it would be. It will be OK though. I have made it this far without CHL, another week won't make that much difference. I keep reminding myself that I put off the CHL class a month because I had something else I wanted to do. So 30 days is on me anyway.

Well, no letter today. I will call tomorrow. I bought a new S&W 642 to make myself feel better! I think it will make a nice summer carry gun.

badkarma: hopefully the status will show "issued" around the 20th this month. The only thing I am worried about is the fingerprint rejection, because they put "best obtainable prints" on my card. BTW I took the class at TopGun, great instructor but the guy from HPD doing the prints didn't impress me much.

good luck with DPS glock19

I'm an Idiot!

No luck required. I called and was told only that an affidavit was incomplete. I received the letter today. The AUTHORIZATION FOR RELEASE OF RECORDS AFFIDAVIT has six places to initial. I only initialed five. I must have stopped and then did not go back to it. I knew none of that stuff applied to me and just got in too big of a hurry. Anyway it is back on it's way to Austin on overnight delivery. We will see how much delay this causes me. The turn around will be about a week, so we can see how mine progresses compared to Sig!

Thanks, Sig. As you may know from my posts, I tend to be suspicious about this whole fingerprint rejection "issue"...it seems to jam-up a bunch of folks. Hopefully, the "best available" label will help you avoid any print-related delays.

Glock19, When did you do the course at Top Gun? The HPD guy seemed adequate for the task, but who knows, right?

I took the class at top gun on july 14th, the instructor (mark) was a good guy. Hopefully we all see our licenses soon!

I did not take my course at Top Gun, I took mine at one day CHL. It was July 14th.

My mistake, Glock19, my wires were temporarily crossed! I caught my error after-the-fact.

I heard good things about One Day CHL, what did you think of your experience?

I mailed my application, photos and all out on the 31st of July. Now I'm in the holding pattern also. Where do you check to see the status changes?

 Houston, of course! Honestly dude, I hope our licenses are issued simultaneously.

Make sure to keep your status updated on this post...the dudes here have become my support group!
