I must be missing something. Where does it say that a suit could not be filed?

That was terrible and so unbelievable that no one had the sense to know what to do?

I swear i would have gone up to that dog and pulled him off or found a stick to break him off the lab.

BTW, i dont blame the pit, i blame the idiot owner.

I have a chocolate lab and if a pitbull or another vicious dog came in my yard attacked my dog i would walk up and shoot the offending animal at point blank range until it quit moving end of story.did i mention i love dogs,just not vicious ones owners let run at large,and by the way that could of just as easily been a child as a dog

I wont name names, but there are 3 breeds out there I wish would all be lined up and shot. My dad was simply walking down a street and got attacked by one of these "gangsta" breeds.

As was stated earlier, going head on with any decently sized dog is insane. They are more vicious, more powerful and much faster than you can ever expect. I have been in those shoes, and had nearly $6k in doctors bills (after insurance) resulting from it.

Furthermore, the resulting rabies vaccination you will undoubtedly undergo will most likely result in an adverse reaction sickness lasting for at least a month and a half. The entire vaccination process lasts about a month. I received 28 shots total during mine, 5 vaccination shots and 23 rabies immune globulin shots, 24 shots given on the first day of treatment.

In my case I was down for nearly three months due to the rabies vaccination. I had a severe migraine headache that lasted the entire time, I could barely walk or eat, I could not sleep, I was in and out of the hospital and doctors offices continually. I weighed 250 at the start and 205 at the end. In addition, I have permanent lasting effects.

If I were there, I would move as close as safely possible, make sure I had a clear safe shot and then shoot the pit bull. I would do this without hesitation and without regard to whether the other dog was mine or not. IMO the pit bull was out of control, was the clear aggressor, and was clearly a threat to everyones life.

If that were my dog being attacked and I had my gun on me I'd have shot that pit deader'n yesterdays meatloaf. Many many opportunites for safe and sure shots firing straight down. no risk of over penetration or collateral damage. The opportunities were too numerous to count.

If I didn't have my gun on me then the pit would have had to do his evil with his back and all his ribs and legs broken. The guy with the lawn chair (or what ever it was) was a joke. But at least he tried to do something while all the others just watched and clucked thier tongues

I had a pit attack my dog on a beach about 15 years ago. I very nearly drowned the pit. Contemplated drowning the pit's owner when he showed up.

Don't know if I would've drawn a gun, but I would've been hitting that pit with whatever I could find that was available. If it chose to attack me, it would be shot if I'm carrying, stabbed if not.

People who don't take care of and control there pets are a huge problem. I've known some very nice pits and some nasty labs.

Shoot it, throw the body on the owners porch and tell them to keep it on a leash next time.

It seems like there's an awful lot of pit bulls running loose.

What really irritates me is that there's nothing wrong with the breed itself, it's that people raise them up to be mean and violent. I've met several pit bulls that were great dogs. I myself was attacked by one when I was 6 years old. It jumped its fence while I was walking by on my way to the bus stop and bit me in the butt/leg. I don't know what ever happened to that dog, I'll have to ask my dad or brother about it.
