Got my PIN letter today! This would normally warrant a "Woooo Hoooo" but I got my PIN by email yesterday.
It still counts as CHL activity. On my way now to get look for holsters!

I dont get it, why have a return receipt? Cost extra money, PO wont do anything if they lost it, you will have to do it all over again. Just sent mine 1st class, should have it in 2 days for only $1.14. Could have used priority mail for $4.60, should be there in 2 days. PO sucks in my opinion, one time they lost ticket portion of my license for 4 months, turned up behind a machine.

Congratulations that is some great news. I didn't know the site was down earlier today and called about the strange message I got. I was told processing on my application began on August 29th. I have learned that when you call the CHL office you can take what you are told with a grain of salt. It seems that either no one really knows what is going on and will make up a tale to tell you or you will just get told what you want to hear. When I called in mid August I was told the site where you can check your application progress was running behind and that my application was being processed. Today I was told that the processing on it actually began two weeks later than what I was told the first time.
Not sure what to believe any more. Just glad someone else has gotten their license.
July 1 mailed the packet.
July 5 delivery confirmation received
July 9 DPS deposits the check
July 27 got notice that I failed to sign one of the fingerprint cards arggh
July 27 signed fingerprint card and mailed back to Austin
July 28 Delivery confirmation that fingerprint card was received at CHL office
August 8 sent email requesting pin
August 9 received pin via email
August 21 Website still shows application missing information called CHL office to be told that application is being processed and website is behind and has problems
August 23 No change in status
August 29 Processing Application
September 6 Received 2 envelopes with same PIN #'s

Interestingly enough, when I tried to check my status this morning (once in the AM, once in the PM) I got an error on their website.
It said I needed to call or email them because the information I entered did not match their records. Huh?
So I sent off a friendly little email asking if there was anything I should do, or if the website was just having problems at the moment.
Later today, I got an email response that said, we're really sorry, but we're having technical difficulties. But when I checked the website again, it had changed status! I'm not sure if someone there did something, or what. But it is strange.

Being a n00b....what exactly is the "Wally Walk"?
Just a trip to Walmart to buy Nachos with the gun concealed or does it have more of a back story?
