Wow, that is one scary guy. Me, I say pick a side. I have 10 issues that are driving me to vote this next election, and not a single democrat agrees with me on any. I can't understand it, it is such an oxymoron. Its like someone sayin..well..hitler was a great artist and loved small children!
The scariest part is I'd wager the thousands of terrorists are salivating at the thought of a democratic president. They would vote for one. Once the democrats turn mexico into the 51st state, they can just walk over and blow us up.

Lets say that instead of Kerry receiving the '04 Democratic nomination
Paul Helmke did. Who do you think most of the "pro gun" democrats would vote for if the '04 election was between Helmke and George W Bush?
My point is there are a great deal of pro gun Democrats who will vote for democrats before republicans, regardless of how they stand on the issues.

the later replies in this thread make me FURIOUS. comparing prople you disagree with to Hitler, or child molestors is UNCALLED FOR.
thats the whole problem with politics today. nobody listens to each other. I personally fall all over the political map. Liberals/Democrats to me are right on some issues, and conservatives/Republicans are right on others.
You need to listen to those you disagree with, and treat them with respect. You might learn something.
I know I did.

Well, I was referring to a couple specific evil people like Kennedy actually.
And I didn't compare them to molesters, I said I thought "slightly: better of them than molesters. I never compared them to hitler, the reference was to the blatent oxymoron. We got a reading comprehension issue here.
I disagree with people who say that Apple architecture is superior to the X86 PC. I don't disagree with boxer, and Hillary, I abhor them and feel like I need to take a shower after uttering their names.

I think Nitrogen brings out a valid point, polarizing rhetoric and name caling isn't the way get things done. This has nothing to do with compromise. but pursuasion.
Ronald Reagan understood this better than any modern day president, and although he was uncompromising in his stands and beliefs, he knew it was important to speak to those of the opposing views with respect and to address issues which he could find common ground. As a result he invented a whole knew political identity "the Reagan Democrat". Before Reagan the Republicans were almost irrelevant as a National party. Reagan also used the technique of being amicable, but uncomprimising in his relationships with the Eastern Bloc.
Among those he called his friends were Gorbochoff and Tip O'Niel
I never cared for JFK. but i will use something he said to help convince those who liked him to see from my poit of view. In politics you don't need to persuade those who agrree with you. It more important to see eye to eye with those that don't

[quote="lawrnk"]I did not lump them all together, I said about 90% are gun grabbers. I have several friends who are democrats and support gun rights. But they make up the minority. I really am sorry if I offended you, but your party is the enemy of the NRA. I wish the Democratic party would wise up and learn about our rights as americans. If they did, I'd start considering some of their candidates.
