I'm in Galveston County But they will need to verify information from Harris and Fort Bend counties. I'm afraid that is where my hold up will be.

This is great!!!! I checked the site about 10.00am and here is the result:

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

I thought mine would take longer being form the Houston area, I am so glad it didn’t drag on.

Howdy Folks! (in my best Big Tex voice)

I might as well join the party. I've been lurking for a while and figured I should share my pain. Misery loves company!

I got my first CHL back in the rush of '96 and I swear it didn't take as long as it does now. Here is a funny fact for you. To make the license process smoother and to even out renewals, DPS made half of the licenses good for four years and half good for two. Of course I got the two year plastic!

I rue the day that I found this site. I would have never known about the online status page that I now obsessively check every two hours. Arrrgggg!

Mike

Know exactly were it is. My daughter lives in Lake Dallas, and we used to travel thru Highland Village on our way to inlaws in Copper Canyon.
