I did not hear him say anything about "injecting" disinfectants. He said to the doctor that maybe they could come up with some sort of treatment using lights or disinfectants.
President Trump is simply not a politician. Which is why I like him. He repeatedly acknowledges he is not a doctor. He was doing like any other regular Joe and spit balling ideas at the doctors. He just needs to learn not to talk so frankly in front of the sharks who are looking for any and every angle to bash him with.

I think this is exactly what he was doing. Looking at what is coming and trying to think of innovative ways to apply what he has just heard.
