A valid 30.06 sign is hard to miss.
Besides, I doubt most of the employees in a place that is posted by company policy even know or care about that aspect of the law. Had you ever heard of 30.06 before you decided to get a CHL?

Nope. And you're right. I saw my first valid 30.06 sign on Thursday and there's no way somebody paying attention could miss it. But just the entire mentality of having to look takes some getting used to. I look for even non-compliant 30.06 signs simply because I choose not to patronize an establishment with that stance on law-abiding citizens.

I saw it at the University Center for Community Health here in San Antonio. 701 S Zarzamora St. It is a health care facility so I half-way expected it to be posted before I got there. I actually took a picture of it lol.

Scale is hard to tell in your picture, but are those letters 1" tall? It sure doesn't look like that's a legal sign.

Thought I would join in with all you guys here. Took my class yesterday and mailed in my packet this morning.
So, the wait begins.

No, it was quite a large sign and those letters were definitely at least one inch tall. The sign was at least 2 feet tall and 3 feet wide.

The sign is not valid. It references Article 4413, 29EE. A valid 30.06 sign references Subchapter H, Chapter 411.

Are there multiple versions of a 30.06 sign? I saw reference on texas3006.com about an old 30.06 sign referencing and old chl law. Is this an example of one of the old 30.06 signs? Or is this simply a 30.06 sign referencing the wrong law?

There are 2 versions of the 30.06 sign, but only 1 valid one. Prior to 1999, there was "Article 4413, 29EE". After that, it was updated to "Subchapter H, Chapter 411". The latter is the valid sign.

I just received my PIN letter and they have misspelled my last name! Why do I have this horrible feeling that this mistake is going to mes up my FBI background check and most likely result in a CHL denial?
Any suggestions on how to handle this proactively or do I just wait it out?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
Call DPS and tell them. The number should be on the letter. They can straighten out the error before it causes problems.
They can verify your name, address, etc., from your driver license record.

Well... I received my letter on Feb. 9th and promptly logged in to only get the message, "The data you have submitted does not match what is in our records. Please verify the data submitted is correct."
After a weeks worth of emails and a call (that got no where), they finally corrected/fixed/verified whatever was wrong and now when I log in, I get the "Processing Application" tag. *whew*
Now...to see if I'm "Approved".

Well I'm entering this topic a little early, but I'm sending my packet within a few days, so I guess that'll do.
I'm really glad that I found this forum. I hope that I can contribute something useful.
