Seeing the latest stuff on here got me to thinking...
If my pistol ever hit the floor in a public restroom, I might just leave it...
Kidding...
But I would probably take it to someone else to disinfect it...
Its nothing like getting a bit of toilet paper stuck in your holster and have that flappin' in the breeze as you make your way out of the place...Right???
(the image alone is worth a thousand words...)

These days since I carry in an ankle holster its not really a problem.
In the past when I faced with this situation;
a) I have made the decision to leave the handgun in the car before going to use a public restroom.
b) Hung the handgun on the back of the door either with the holster or in a jacket.
c) Placed the handgun inside my boot or sock as I lowered my pants.

I live in constant fear of public restrooms. in almost 29 years of life, I've only had to resort to them a few times. I've laughed so hard at some of these situations, I've almost fallen out of my chair a few times! I know one of these days, it'll happen to me, and now I know how to be prepared when I'm forced to venture into the public john! Thanks guys!

I'm with TacTex.....
I am not pro pub-bowl to say the least but there will be a time that the porcelain god will call for a sacrifice and I'll be darned if it's gonna be my 1911 taking a swim. It is remarkable that some threads can die so quickly, but a john thread goes four pages!

The key words here are "in almost 29 years of life". When you reach 50 like some of us, you will find yourself needing such places more often. I seldom use public restrooms, but if you find yourself away from the home or office more than 10 hours at a time you will soon have to.

Oh, I know, OnTexasTime! I'll eventually have to pay the piper for the years of spicy food and general abuse I give my GI tract!

Spend some time in Fun places overseas (most of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East) Either professionally, or as a tourist, and public restrooms will seem incredibly tame... Granted, thats only the 24 years of life experience speaking. It gives 'Anywhere, Anytime' a new meaning.

Wait until decisions about when and where you can go somewhere are based on the location of available public restrooms.
You'll learn which of the retailers have the cleanest and which to avoid, fast food establishments being on the low end.
You'll memorize where they are located in the different stores and how much time it takes to get to them.
I am truly amazed when I read where someone never uses public facilities.
