Will you be making a tour through Dallas/Fort Worth also? I know a few guys, including myself, that is interested in the Utah Permit.
llwatson on our board here is a Utah instructor in the DFW area. :thumbs2:
Wow, are you serious? Time to PM llwatson for her class schedule. I'm planning on going to Vegas soon, so I need that Nevada reciprocity.

Thank you for doing this! I enjoyed the Utah class last night and I'm looking forward to your DF seminar next month.
Charles L. Cotton wrote:I have received my Utah CFP credentials and I've order the required stamp. The stamp should ship sometime this week, so I can schedule a class in the Houston area. You should go the Utah BCI website and download the application forum. Here is the information website that gives the eligibility requirements, fees, etc. and here is the actual Utah CFP Application. I'll print a few to have at the class in case people forget. You must have this form at the class, because Utah instructors have to stamp your application, instead of issuing a training certificate like Texas' TR-100. (This is a lot better way to do it!)

This is a four hour class and it does not have any range qualification. I would like to run the first class on Friday, May 23rd from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. It probably will be at PSC, but if not it will be at a location in the Friendswood area.

The second class in the Houston area will be Saturday, May 31st from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm also at PSC or elsewhere in the Friendswood area.

The cost will be $70 and includes photos, notary signature and fingerprints.

Send an email to me at Charles@TexasShooting.com if you would to be in either class.

Chas.

Hey Chas, any prospective date for an Austin class? It seems there's plenty of interest, judging from previous posts in this thread. I'm ready to get my Utah CHP as soon as you have a class available!

Let's see how many people in the Austin area REALLY want to get a Utah CFP and I'll schedule it soon, if we have enough.

I'll start a separate thread on this.

:iagree: +1 on the Utah class. Four hours is a lot easier to sit through than the 10 hour Texas class. The Utah application is only one page, and half of that is Yes/No questions! There is no range qualification, no final exam, and it costs less than half the Texas fee. After your five years are up, the renewal is only $10, with no class required. :hurry:

Class of May 23, 2008. Utah license 69 days door to door. Thanks Charles. :thumbs2:

FWIW, a year ago it took me 63 days to get my Texas CHL.

My Utah package went into the mail June 4; confirmed delivered in Salt Lake June 6.

I'll bet you beat me getting the application in their hands, and even though I haven't been watching for delivery of the plastic (the anticipation just isn't the same with your backup CCW permit), you now have me wanting to get home to check the mailbox. :clapping:

I'll be happy to get it in hand. The Utah license will stagger my Texas CHL by two years. It'll be nice having that overlap "insurance," plus a couple of additional carry states.

Arrived in the mail today! Plastic shows date-of-issue as August 5.

It looks pretty consistent that 60 days from receipt is when you get your plastic. Yay for Utah!!!
