Obviously, what's needed is a law requiring all bathroom stall partitions to be bullet resistant!!

To understand the mechanics of a gun and know that they cannot just "go off at any time" is not a false sense of security.I believe that any gun, can go off at any time, announced or unannounced, when dropped.
To believe anything else, is to lull myself into a false sense of security and start disregarding the rules of gun safety.
That's how I feel and I'm unanimous in that statement
I replaced the firing pin in my pre series II Kimber with a titanium model and installed a stronger firing pin spring to reduce the risk of an inertial discharge if a dropped gun hit the floor just right. The Annoyed Man wrote:In regard to dropping 1911s...
My Kimber has a firing pin block that retains it until the trigger is pulled (and grip safety depressed). Be that as it may... ...I don't drop it.
My Springfield beats the problem by having a titanium firing pin which doesn't weigh enough to overcome the inertia of the spring when dropped. I choose not to drop it either.
Dihappy is technically correct.dihappy wrote:To understand the mechanics of a gun and know that they cannot just "go off at any time" is not a false sense of security.I believe that any gun, can go off at any time, announced or unannounced, when dropped.

To believe this way is to ignore logic.
Without belaboring the point, I feel obligated to say that these are both very dangerous practices for reasons which have apparently been pointed out by others.VoiceofReason wrote:Well I have been criticized enough for carrying my Kimber on half cock so let’s not get into that again.![]()
But because I do, yes I would try to catch it. Wouldn’t matter if I did get my finger in the trigger guard and squeezed the trigger while catching it.
Ok, Until that one passes through Congress, I've Googled and found "Kevlar® Leggings" .... but can't find the Kevlar® support hosiery for men ...sjfcontrol wrote:Obviously, what's needed is a law requiring all bathroom stall partitions to be bullet resistant!!
I think cross ventilation and mopping is the main reasons...and checking for occupancy without opening the door on someone. Of course depending on the round, there would be shrapnel coming with it if there were full barriers.tfrazier wrote:A one in a million occurrence, but boy is it bad publicity for CHL.
Aside from the obvious mistake and fault of the holder, why is it that public bathroom stalls always have a foot or so of open space at the bottom? Is it necessary for sanitation purposes just to make it simpler to run a mop around the floor?
Seems like just running those dividers all the way to the floor would solve multiple problems (Larry Craig) along with giving folks additional privacy and some extra cover in the rare event an idiot drops a gun in the next stall.
I know your post is in jest...but I have a very deliberate method of pulling my pants down just a little (thumb around the butt, hand over the belt), concealing my heater underneath my boxers (iwb), and then sliding everything down as needed. I'd illustrate, but I think I read somewhere that this is to remain a family-oriented message board.Oldgringo wrote:On this date in July of 2009 AD, this particular thread of 'how to go to the bathroom with my CW' was born.
I think you need to read closer... What he meant he found was the shelf and used it to place HIS CCW on it while using the facility.Justin CHL wrote:Did you call security or the police?
