My #1 issue is RKBA, but I've found that it's generally (not universally) an accurate litmus test for other issues.

My #2 issue is reduced government spending . . . I'd like to see total Federal spending limited to a fixed percentage of the GDP, to prevent government growth from outstripping growth of the economy, which is a sure prescription for disaster.

Get government out of people's personal lives
-Stop the asinine war on drugs: when's the last time you heard of a drive by shooting by a rival gang of alcohol distributors?
-Gay marriage: who you choose to pair with is not my concern, nor the government's
--repeal DADT: current policy amounts to "They're okay soldiers, we just don't want to know about their private lives."

Health care reform
-No recission
-No 'pre-existing conditions'- life is a pre-existing condition
-No annual or lifetime caps.

Wall street / banking reform
-no more bailouts. Too big to fail? then fail.
--force banks who did take bailouts to make more individual and small business loans. Bailouts used to pay huge bonuses on my dime? Oh H*LL no!
-re-regulation of wall street. Glass / Steagall II. Unregulated Reaganomics put us in this pickle.

1. Federal Reserve Bank must disclose the following: (which they are prohibited by law from doing at the moment)
[*]transactions for or with a foreign central bank, government of a foreign country, or nonprivate international financing organization;
[*]deliberations, decisions, or actions on monetary policy matters, including discount window operations, reserves of member banks, securities credit, interest on deposits, and open market operations
[*]transactions made under the direction of the Federal Open Market Committee; or
[*]a part of a discussion or communication among or between members of the Board of Governors and officers and employees of the Federal Reserve System related to clauses (1)-(3) of this subsection of US Code.

2.) Term Limits for any public office

3.) 16th amendment repealed - Internal Revenue Service dismantled.

4.) Department of Education dismantled

Now that our currency, business, and minds are free..... The rest should follow.

I'd like to rethink US foreign policy: helping others is great, but we need to focus more on ourselves for a little while.

I would say the #1 issue is to shrink the Government (particularly the federal government). If that is not done then I am afraid that all the rest will simply not matter. Being able to own guns will mostly mean that on average we will get to live through the inferno of anarchy that much longer then most. I would personally rather fight the political fight now to live in a civilized country not under the yoke of progressive aristocracy and king Hussein.

We need to get back to basics...

The sole responsibility of government is to protect the rights of it's citizens.

It seems we have lost that message in all the political clutter.

And though she's not really in office, I'd be very happy to see Palin go away...
