They probably could post it since §30.06 allows governmental entities to post a valid sign if the premises is prohibited under §46.03 or §46.035. The logic gets a little circular, but it leads me to believe that proper §30.06 notice could be given for a sporting event held on government-owned property.

As a parallel in current law, a posting at a government meeting is valid even if it is held at a government-owned building because the meetings are listed as a prohibited place under §46.035.

With the current law, they can post but the 30.06 is invalid for boat shows, gun shows, bridal shows, etc.

If the law passes, then posting a professional sporting event would be like the government meeting in your example. The sign would still be invalid for boat shows, gun shows, bridal shows, etc.

Just a side note on this subject - we just spent 4 days at HLSR showing cattle - lifting, leading, bathing, feeding - basically living with cattle for 14 hours a day. Both MAR and I carried the entire time, I even went into the show ring. NO problems. We had a great time - stood in many lines with literally hundreds of thousands of people around, we never even thought of "losing it" like so many folks are afraid of happening on campuses etc with folks carrying. Didn't even threaten the judge when my cow didn't win

We did not attend any of the concert/rodeo performances, so that was not an issue.

The "stickiest" times were using the cattle blower to dry my pants after washing cattle... gotta be careful with shirts blowing up - those blowers are powerful!

I was at the livestock show and rodeo all day. Never saw a 30.06 sign (or even a 51 sign at The Hideout). Nobody really cared if I was carrying or not.
But if you're a woman (or a man, I suppose), carrying in your purse, they'll spot it when inspecting your back and may/may not freak out.

| knew of someone who carried in a smartcarry all day long and that including both the Rodeo and the Country Music concert.
no gun jumped from its hiding and no LEO was called in. They were busy observing the nice looking ladies in their boots.
