I'm not sure of eric's exact dates, but I'm in the same ballpark as he and noosh:

Here's my chrono so far:
Online Application 9/1/11
Class Completed 10/1/11
Packet Mailed 10/2/11
Fingerprints Taken 10/6/11
Fingerprints: Complete 10/12/11
Background Completed: 10/18/11
Manufacturing Pending (as of 10/19/11)

So, for all you others, about two weeks after the later of 'packet' or 'fingerprints.' I'm not sure it would have affected the timing if I'd done the fingerprints before I took the course and mailed the packet, but my guess is that that would have sped things up. I imagine that the background check flows solely from the fingerprinting.

Well, forget what I speculated about 'background check' triggered solely by 'fingerprints.' I think if you look at (I think it was) ericks' timeline, where he did fingerprints before mailing the packet, you'll see that they probably didn't move on doing the background check until after they got the packet, too.

I'm assuming it only takes a few days to manufacture.. yours might actually ship late this week or early next week! i read on the september board that someone got theirs mailed on on a saturday.
like everyone says.. there is no rhyme or reason behind it!

the fingerprint/backgorund correlation actually makes sense. i wonder if that is the deciding factor?

Yeah mine was filed under military so i wonder if that prolongs the the process. Also i have been investigated by the Fed 2x the past 3 years (for work security clearances). Hope that stuff doesnt slow it down, of course i always wish they would just look at JPAS and see that i have a Secret Clearance active, but wish in one hand....

here's my chrono: I really hope it shows up in the next day or two. I'm not sure why some people seem to get stuck on the mailed stage. Seems like it should be 2-3 days max from when the license is mailed until you have it in hand.

i'm active duty as well. it didn't take any longer or shorter than most of the people here in the october class. you should be fine.

Hey Opti,

You'll find the delay in the "Mailed" stage is from the letter sitting on a desk at DPS for a few days before it get's post marked. My status was mailed for 3 or 4 days before it was post marked but it was in my hands 2 days after that. I think the DPS batches them and sends them out in mass.

Any idea as to when these batches get sent out? I know that's asking a lot, but I can't stand waiting (just like everyone else on the board). I don't know why they wouldn't just do mail collection once per day.
