Hmmm, may try to make it. Don't really have any good shotguns for clays, but I can still blast away a little. :-)
Will let you know by tomorrow Andy.

Crossfire, I hear you - I'd like to be able to lie in as well!
We should meet on the shotgun side (obviously) just outside the shotgun clubhouse and decide which course we'd like to shoot.
Please post your name if you're coming so I know who to wait for (ending a sentence with a preposition, but at this time of the morning I don't care - sorry, Mrs Smith!).
Aww crap! I'm not going to be able to make it. I had a client training appointment set for 10 a.m. this morning, and my Internet access crapped out last night due to the weather (Verizon FiOS is apparently down all over this area). As of this morning, they're saying that it isn't going to be back up until 9:45 p.m. tonight, so I had to move that appointment to Saturday morning on my client's behalf. I'm having to use my iPad to post this.
Shoot! But, I'm sure my son and his fiancé might like to still come.
dangit!

Is there a restriction on shotguns at Elm Fork? I only have a 18.5" pump (with full stock, no pistol grip). I heard they won't let "riot guns" shoot skeet.
*Edit for spelling

I'm good with the time change, Andy. I've got the whole day.
Wanna shoot my V-Bob after we're done bustin' clays?

I'll share my Browning with you, Keith.

I prefer the 10:30 start time as well. I second the motion...!

They won't allow that, sorry - but you can either A. rent a shotgun there or B. use one of ours - just bring 100+ rounds of 12ga birdshot (7, 8 or 9s) ammo :)
Well Dang....I might have to get me a new (to me) shotgun or rent one.

Please count me in. The only contingency being a possible last minute pullout due to an out-of-town relative's health situation. Andy, I can PM you Friday night, if needed, to shore my spot up...just let me know.
I look forward to shaking hands and making new friends...

I have been lurking to see when the date would be, hoping it was Feb 11. I will be in Grand Prairie for twin grand daughter's 4th BD. fun. I assume an out of town rusty shotgunner could join you guys but it's not to be. There's been no interest in a get together down in here in Houston, the post died on the vine. Have fun!

Andy, I can't find on the elm fork site anything about the shotgun restrictions. I'll plan on renting a semi auto regardless. If you've posted the fee's for the sporting clay course, I missed it, if not are we getting a group discount and how much will it be per person?
thanks

First post in the thread... Elm Fork = $42.90

Shotgun rental seems to be $15 for a Beretta semiauto
Group discounts - good question. I guess it depends how many shooters actually arrive in our group.

Hmmm, that's a darn pity - I know you've been wanting to shoot for a long time. We might be able to get something going for the 11th while you're here, but I'm not sure I could afford another whole round of sporting clays that quickly - a few rounds of skeet, perhaps?
I will definitely keep it in mind. My daughter's father-in-law has shot at Elm Fork I believe so maybe I can talk him and my S-I-L into a go. I would be better off with skeet any way since it's been so long since I've held a SG.
