As speaker, Joe Straus killed at least two campus carry bills in the house. He also killed parking lots at least once (2009) before it finally passed last year.

Your turn. :biggrinjester:
You really don't have a clue what was going on with parking lots, do you? It took 4 sessions, 8 years to pass it, and it wasn't the Speaker's fault. In 2009, Straus' first term as Speaker, the parking lot bill (HB1301) was left pending in the House Public Safety Committee because the Senate companion SB730 passed the Senate and went to the House. Unfortunately, it lingered there until it was too late to get out of calendars and make it to the floor. Every business organization opposed it, including every single Chamber of Commerce and the Chemical Council. They did the same the prior two legislative sessions when Straus was not Speaker. The business community killed the bill, not the Speaker. We finally defeated them in 2011 when Straus was in his second term as Speaker. If he had killed in it 2009 as you claim, there's every reason to believe he would have done so in 2011.

Campus carry never got out of the Senate and everyone knows the story of why. Gutless Democrats went back on their word to Sen. Wentworth and it died because supporters couldn't get 21 votes. Straus didn't have to kill campus-carry; it died in the Senate.

Now where's your list of gun bills Obama and Pelosi killed? Do you want to include anti-gun executive orders he signed?

Chas.

It's not that bad. It's okay if you're right, but you better be really sure you are. :thumbs2:

Back on the subject of Joe Straus, let's take a look back at what he did in 2009.
