Submitted all my paperwork online, nothing mailed, for an original CHL on January 5th, my status updated January 28th.

Just checked the DPS website.
'Background check under review'.
Mailed my docs in on 1-16.
Took 16 days from mailing it in to status change.
Meanwhile, the search for ammo continues.
No trips to the range until the shelves get restocked
And EVERYWHERE around here they are bare.

Finally see a change in my status!
Jan. 8 app
Jan. 12 chl class
Jan. 16 documents mailed snail mail
Feb. First status update. Everything done just background check under way! Ah, the wait is driving me nuts!

1/01/13 Online application
1/04/13 Fingerprinting done
1/05/13 CHL class done
1/07/13 Mailed packet
1/08/13 DPS signed for packet
1/25/13 DPS shows received and background check under review
I don't know what is more nerve racking, waiting on DPS or waiting on Crossbreed for my supertuck!

Anybody else check their status after someone else gets the good news? I am sure that DPS tracks information about what computer (ip address) logs in to check using a persons credentials for security reasons... I posted this in a separate post yesterday but I'll post it here as well since I mailed everything 1/1/2013. The process is moving faster than I imagined considering the increased volume the DPS is experiencing.
