Good for you, but don't get complacent! Stand strong. We're all pulling for you.

I'm late to this party but quit a few years ago from a 2 can a day dipping habit. I had dipped for about 10 years when I quit.

I quit for economic reasons. I had been in the army overseas and snuff was considerably cheaper there. When I got back I was shocked at the price. I told myself I would quit if it got above a certain amount. I went into the store one day and the clerk gave me the total that was above my threshold. I pushed the cans back accross the counter to her and said no thanks. I have not touched it since.

It was not easy. The first couple of weeks were murder. After the physical addiction was broken, I had the other urges (i.e. anytime I hunted, drank a beer, hung out with my buddies, drove a long way, etc) to beat.

I can't tell you how much money I've saved by not dipping and you know the impacts on my health.

The simple truth is, I quit cold turkey and used willpower and support from my family and true friends to stay off of it.

Stay strong my friend, it's worth it!!!

Really wanted a dip after dinner. I think it's all mental now, first time today I really wanted to dip, not going to do it though.

Isaiah 41:10 "...fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Still going strong here. Certain times of the day are tough but its not near as bad as people make it out to be. I know Im eating more cause of the cravings.

Years after I quit smoking I would reach for my pocket when I would get on my tractor.
You will be reminded of the "habit" for a long time. Fear not! It feels good to have one of those moments after you know you have beat it.
I started smoking when I was 14 and quit at 32. 20 years ago.

When I quit smoking the main thing that helped me stay "distracted" was good ol sunflower seeds. Super cheap and they taste great! I ate them while driving around, since that's when I did a lot of my smoking, to and from work. Just be careful not to spill that spit cup of empty shells!!

Excellent, keep it up! It actually got me to start working out again when I laid it down. Sense of empowerment, I suppose. And you will eat more, just eat good stuff, pasticcios, seeds (as many have said), sugar-free gum, baby carrots, etc...you're taking out something bad so replace it with something good.

I'm proud of you! :smash:

Today is the end of day 5 and ill be honest, this has been the hardest day yet. I've had a nic fit all day long that will not go away. Today has been a huge test of my will power. I hope it get easier tomorrow cause a few more days like this and I don't know if I will make it. I'm very strong willed but today has been pure hell.
