They are cashing in on the fact that it looks cool specially in slow mo. The misconception that temporary stretch cavity causes reliable wounding. That the measure a a good round is speed and foot pounds of KE. That few people know the difference between temporary stretch cavity and permanent crush cavity. That large temp cavity shown in ballistics gel is not actually crush cavity, crush cavity is the small sub-diameter hole that follows the projectile while those cool large clouds in gel are stretch cavity.

In some markets "Cool" sells.

It is amazing how much damage a 5.56 FMJ Nato round can do with no trickery, exploding pins or cross cut patterns of titanium infused plastics.

Just a simple bullet.

Obviously the Department of Defense needs a better marketing team.

It would be an excellent round if the "tongues" would open up like a flower and do not break off. As was the case when shot through 12-layer of denim.

You guys beat me to it. I was just going to post these two videos. I think they pretty much dispel
most of the claims for the RIP bullet. I carry HST in my .45s.

That is what they are designed to do.

They could be selling it for 10 dollars per 20 and I wouldn't use the stuff.

I know I wouldn't want to be the first CHL'er to have to answer to a prosecutor as to why I had my mags full of RIP Ammo.
Are you flipping kidding me?
RIP Ammo...
Aside from the fact it's a very light bullet, and dunno how reliable it'll run...especially with newer glocks that have beefed up recoil springs for the nancies.
