I don't have a better shooting gun in my safe than my XD Sub-Compact. Has 15+1 capacity with the extended mag and is really no more conspicuous than my single stacks when in an IWB.

Hmm, I carry this M&P .40 mid-sized every day, but it's spec are almost identical to the 9E.

My only complaint is the beaver/dove tail. I want to get that knocked off.

If the question is ever "which gun" then the answer will always be Glock 19.

Charles L. Cotton wrote:I own Glocks and I must admit I don't like them at all. The biggest problem is the grip angle is significantly different from 1911's that I have carried and used for decades. I also don't like the brick feel of a Glock, but some people like it.

If you intend to get a 1911, or most any other automatic that has pretty much the same grip angle, then I'd stay away from Glocks.

My thoughts too for exactly the same reasons.

Glocks are beautifully engineered highly reliable tools - but their ergonomics are horrible and haven't much changed for the better in nearly 40 years, while other manufacturers have caught up on reliability and polymer frames and are light years ahead in ergonomics.

S&W Shield in 9mm works for me. I handled a bunch of different pistols when researching my purchase for concealed carry and none of them felt as good in my hand as the Shield.
