There is a new report in the headlines today. It seems the issue is actually pretty ambarassing, at least in my opinion!

Well this is scary. News article talks about the possibility of hacking or messing with a ship's gps system and causing these collisions:

GPS tells you where you are, not where ships are moving around you.
Radar isn't blinded by a GPS malfunction, and neither are human lookouts - if they're actually engaged in looking out.
I'm not buying this excuse.
