Hello Everyone!
I've been reading the waiting room even before I replied... I won't have PIH for a while, but I figured I'd post my timeline anyway...
Class Taken: 2/13
Range Test: 4/20
Application: 4/20
Fingerprints: 4/27
Phone Call to Confirm Receipt: 4/29 (they acknowledge my timer started on 4/20)
Website Change: ??Probably Never??
PIH: Tombstone: "Still Waiting"
I'm up in Dallas. I'm just here for shits and giggles, I don't really care how long it takes. I had my CHL in Louisiana before I moved here 3 years ago and it only took 3 weeks in Lafayette. My biggest frustration with the process in TX is the lack of transparency. If they were smart, they'd save a crap-ton of time by keeping an accurate status online (i.e. Application Received, Fingerprints Received, Application in Progress, Pending Background Check, Sent to Print, Shipped) they would reduce calls, and it would certainly be more efficient...however I'm a DevOps engineer. My job is to automate processes....
Anyway, I'm getting long winded. Good to be here.

Plastic in hand - ??
Much faster than I was expecting, called RSD yesterday to confirm receipt of all necessary documents and the nice lady told me that it was going to print tomorrow (today, 4/29)....its even going to beat my stealthgear holster which was ordered the same day as I applied for LTC.
Plastic in hand - May 2
26 business days start to finish

I feel you: I am also a software developer. I was thinking the same thing when I was on hold
forever on the phone. The person on the other end clearly checks something on their computer to give you the status. Clearly they should just provide the same information when logging in to check status yourself. They'd have significantly less calls, meaning the people who have to be on the phone 24/7 could help with applications, or hell, just re-assign them to updating people's status online so they don't have to call...

You have the jealousy of everyone here. Any idea why yours is the only one (I'm exaggerating) that was less than 60 days?

That seems to be the pattern I've noticed. Once the status changes, it seems to typically be 1-2 post office days for it to arrive in the mail.
