Yep. I guess that the State rep's. don't have any pull now. I contacted two (2) state rep's. and received two (2) calls from DPS in 10 min's. time. Both said the same thing. "We are waiting on Harris county to finish the background check."

i done it also just make sure you have all your info right before you click anything

05/12 : Received PIN snail mail
Current Status : Processing Application (for 97 days)

This might be the most ridiculous process in history! I think you can get a green card faster.

Actually no, nothing beats the slowness of that process...

My wife's took just under 18 months from original application submission to actual Green Card Receipt.
Then her 3-year renewal took 1 year, 3 months...

HOWEVER, at least they issue a temporary work authorization card in the meantime! That only took 2 months to get...

I'm with the crowd that says we should be issued a temporary carry permit within like 15 days until the permanent one arrives

I e-mailed my state rep last Friday asking him to check the status of my application which was sent to DPS on March 30.
I received a reply today(no kidding) that he had contacted DPS and was told that they would produce my license within 2 days and ship it UPS Express-Next Day Air. I am to send him an e-mail confirming my receipt of the license.

Checked my status just now. Application complete-license issued. Golly, and in only 137 days. Guess my e-mail to my state rep worked. Good Luck to All

8/13/09 - Application Complete-License Issued
8/14/09 - 9:45 AM - Plastic in Hand via UPS Next Day Air

02/14 CHL class (valentine's gift from hubby :)
3/07 mailed app
03/10 received in Austin
04/14 PIN received
08/13 plastic in hand :)
