Cheney, who currently serves as vice-chair of the House's Jan. 6 committee investigating the Capitol protests, lost the Wyoming primary election [by a 2-to-1 margin!] to Republican Harriet Hageman, a Trump-backed primary challenger.

Yeah; frankly, it doesn't seem like it would take an IQ much above room temperature to know that the whole Jan 6 sham-hearings thing would be the final nail in the coffin of Liz Cheney...as a Republican. Or as a delegate from Wyoming from either party, really. But that writing may have already been on the wall from the backlash she got over her attacking the Trump administration so vehemently after voting with him on 92% of the bills he endorsed from 2017 through 2020.
If she still has any plans in politics, it will definitely be to jump parties to the dems. I will cry no parting tears. And I think she would have less than the proverbial snowflake's chance in a 2024 presidential run as the democrat candidate.

FBI Raid Has Solidified Trump's Clout In GOP Ahead Of Expected 2024 Run, Conservative Observers Say
...The raid of Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s house in Palm Beach, Florida, was aimed at preventing the former president from gaining office again, they told The Epoch Times.
If anything, however, the raid has had the opposite effect, they said, as the belief grows that Trump will announce a new presidential run sooner rather than later
...Gorka, 51, who hosts a syndicated radio show distributed by the Salem Network, estimated that Trump’s base of voters has grown from 75 million voters to over 100 million voters since the billionaire developer’s departure from the White House, just a year and a half ago.

Abraham Cheney thinks she's going to be President in 2024.
I'm continually amazed at how some of these folks can connect dots when I see no such connections. To wit:
1. She just lost an election (badly) to people who know her well. She supposedly has represented them.
2. A logical question is: are people who don't know her as well going to be more inclined to vote for her?
3. She tried to get Democrats to cross over to the Republican primary to vote for her and that obviously did not work out well for her.
4. If she could not garner enough Democratic crossover votes in the State she is supposed to represent, what is her appeal to Democrats in other States? It is not as though she as a stellar record of supporting Democratic causes before this and her family credentials before she tried to take on Trump were pretty much loathed by Democrats. I suspect that some of them still loath she and her father. What is going to change that.
5. Assuming that the Republicans gain full power of the Legislature, the January 6th stuff is going to lose any power that it currently has and may turn out to be more of liability than an asset in 2024. The dirty secrets of the FBI involvement and the deliberate negation of calling up the National Guard could be exposed. Even the media cannot spin that enough to make it good. Since being on this "commission" is her one current claim to fame, to what will she pivot when that is no longer useful?.
6. She has the charisma of a alley cat. Even the Democats don't try to get something like that elected. What is going to change and make her more liable before 2024?
