Welcome to the club I've been in background check for 2 weeks and am told it can take up to 6 weeks...my girlfriend already got hers and it makes the wait so much worse

Welcome to the club I've been in background check for 2 weeks and am told it can take up to 6 weeks...my girlfriend already got hers and it makes the wait so much worse

I just learned of another reason the background check can take so long. The FBI not only checks with every State Department of Justice, it also checks with every county in the United States -- about 3,200 counties.

Sitting at around 41 days so far and haven't received any conformation email or anything, I called last week to see if they had received my docs because I never got an email or update and they told me to wait until about 8/1/14 before I call again because "It's too early to know if we have them yet"

I just got an update, logged onto the CHL website and saw that I can change my mailing address, contact info, etc. Last time I checked was this past Friday or Saturday and that wasn't there. I'm sitting at day 48 right now, hopefully i'll have my card in hand this week or next week!

I haven't had time to update this but I got my plastic in hand on Friday! Took 50 days from mailbox to mailbox, I'm just happy that I didn't end up being one of the 90-120+ day cases...

Submitted mine 5/19. Talked with DPS again on 7/18 and they said they didn't even start on mine till 7/8 and that's really when my 60 days started. WHat the WHat!
