LT, the link didn't work. I didn't see the pic. But I'm sure she's a beaut!! I thought I remembered you wanting the TRP? Did you change your mind or just come across a great deal? Either way, it's pretty tough to go wrong with the one you got! :thumbs2:

Ha,,, no. i never shared the story, my grandfather carried that on in WWII, it was a Gift from my great great uncle, this one was WWI surplus, it was manufactured in 1918, I would live to clean it up, but probably would not shoot it, however, he has another one that was not as well cared for, if that is given to me, I’ll clean it up, new prings and what not, and enjoy it at the range.

Grips are for my TRP, that I have not photo yet.

It is awesome that you have family heirloom firearms. Sadly, my parents were very uncomfortable with firearms. They are yankee's, and had several tragic family deaths involving firearms. The only thing that even resembles a firearms that I hope to inherit is my dad's 1940's Red Ryder BB gun. He shot a bird when 11 with it, I did the same. Honestly that is the only animal I've ever shot. I am looking around for someone to take me hog hunting. Sorry! I thread jacked a bit there.

A Red-Ryder! Don't you know you'll shoot your eye out with that thing!

 It sure is. I have several left over from the stack you gave when we met up to shoot over there. I use them sparingly because I really like them, and it's a long drive over there. It may sound weird but with some sights that's an easier target for me to focus on with the white center. I have some tagets with a black bullseye in the center and I don't shoot as well with them. Strange I know, and it shouldn't matter, but that's just the way it is.

That was at 15 feet with 185gr UMC, so it wasn't any great feat, but for me it was pretty good. Those grips with laser seem to bite a little more too. The laser is pretty useless IMO BTW.

Hey, SSG. Nice looking gun! It looks almost familiar, just a tiny bit bigger than mine... ;-) I finally got mine all broken in. After very few problems in the first few mags, I haven't had a single issue since. It's eaten everything I've put through it. I've ended up with Hornady 230gr TAP +P's for my daily carry round. I hope yours turns out to be as reliable as mine. I've got 520 rounds through it now. I haven't really used the laser shooting yet. I don't even have the master power switch turned on while I've got it on me right now. What did you not like about the laser?

Picked this up at the gun show this last weekend. First 1911 and I really like it. Pics of the gun and the holster I made for it.

Thanks, it (holster) was fun to make and is comfortable to wear. Much more comfortable than I thought for a 1911 size gun with a 5 inch barrel.
