Yes.
if the Senate passes the identical Bill that the House has already passed, there is no need for the House to vote again.
As of now, the only difference between the House engrossed bill and the bill being considered in the Senate (CSHB910) is the removal of the Dutton amendment.

If the amendment is added then it is the same as the house bill, so it would not have to go back to the house, am I missing something ??

I'm curious about that - I could see the Democratic senators supporting this amendment if that means the bill gets kicked back to the House (and delayed, and maybe never make it to the gov's desk).
One of two things, there are enough Rs against the amendment that the whole bill won't pass, or the Gov has said he won't sign it that way.

So far the Senator that's up now arguing against the amendment actually seems to be providing an example of why it's needed.

I have a really bad feeling about this right now, "poison pill" doesn't help. I hope I'm wrong.

Huffman sure put up a compelling argument on the Dutton amendment! At this point I honestly don't know it it would help or hurt passage of the bill today.

Why would NRA and TSRA be against this amendment?

If this amendment makes the bill identical to what the House passed, then go for it. Otherwise no.

Remember that Huffines is a "constitutional carry, aka unlicensed carry," guy as well as (I suspect) Bob Hall is also. Am I correct?
