164 Days here, Harris County. Mine did change to "application complete" sometime between last Wednesday evening and Noon Friday. Nothing in the mail today, but then again with my mail lady one of the neighbors could get it.

I am at 6 days and counting....This will be interesting to see if there will be a delay due to my mailing address being in GA. Has anyone had their CHL mailed out of state? Any insight if this will create a delay?

I live in Kansas and just got mine today. It was mailed on Monday after showing "complete" on Friday. Didn't seem to have any problems with mailing to another state.

That's good news. I guess I will be playing the normal waiting game then...

Does it matter what county you are in or what county completed your certification?

I applied for a non-resident CHL and my CHL was mailed to my out of state address. Total processing time was less than 2 months. That was in Q4 of 2007 before things got backlogged but my non-resident status didn't seem to create any undue delays. It may even have helped, as I had a concealed carry permit from my local Sheriff and I assume TX DPS contacted his office during the background check (considering local LEO address/phone were required by TX DPS for non-resident applicants.)

Thanks for the info. Although, I applied for a resident CHL. I am only temporarily out of state. I have a TX DL, physical address, vote, and pay property taxes in Texas.

one thing that has me concerned...the "JR" was left off my name on the pin # letter, and so was my apt. number. I'm not sure if this was "clerical" shorthand, or if my plastic is going to arrive that way; I don't want this to be a reason I get kicked back...but if I get my plastic that way I am just going to leave it that way. This is only troubling because my father and I took the class together and mailed our stuff in at the same time...it bothers him more than me when people leave the Jr. off my name!
YEA! Plastic in hand, :thumbs2: and legal name is all good! Now, to find out why my father's application is STILL being "processed"!! :banghead:

Got my plastic in the mail this evening... Oh what a wonderful feeling.

The bitter irony though: Mrs. BLC received hers 2 days BEFORE me, even though I had been checking online and called several times. (Our ap.s were sent in the exact same day.) Goes to show you....

(don't want to take this thread the wrong direction.. but just think if our applications were for health care! :rules: )

Also - USA1 - you look so much better now that you're capitalized!

Has anyone had their picture returned.having a bluetooth in

Hello everyone,

I have an interesting question.

I took my CHL course last September and sent my APP in immediately. But when the instructor took my picture I had my bluetooth in my ear (for anyone who uses one it is quite easy to forget that you have it in). Immediately thereafter I realized my mistake and asked the instructor to take another picture. He said it did not matter....BIG MISTAKE! I believed him and sent in my packet.....

Here is my question...... Has anyone had this happen to them, where their picture got kicked back and after fixing the problem how long did it take you to get your CHL in the mail.My current status is application being processed. Does this happening to you put you in further queue above newer applications hence it was returned??

Curious and perplexed,
Daymoon. :patriot:
