Finally, DPS called today and my Harris county BG check came in yesterday
They CALLED you? How big of a pest have you been? How do I get on the list to rate a call?
Q
I received a call today from DPS....... They told me they are still waiting on my to be returned from Harris County...... She said she has placed a "Rush" on it. I am going to "hold my breath" until it gets here! I think by that time I will have been dead for at least a month. She did tell me Harris County is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy behind, which I think we have all had that figured out for awhile! I am hoping I will have it before my trip to Sturgis?
Good luck all and I hope you get yours soon!

maybe it has to do with the "birthday " factor.
if you get "approved" just after your birthday ,you get extra time before your renewal .

Thats correct!!

You get a minimum 4 years plus whatever is left until your birthday. So if they qualify you right after your birthday you end up with almost 5 years. Hopefully by then they will have the process fixed.

BriN, if that's your timeline - without complications - I guess I'm stuck for another month or more since I had a fingerprint re-do in the middle of my saga.
It's been a week, now, since I mailed my letters. On Monday I'm going to follow-up with some phone calls and see what my Rep and Senator have to say.

Well I finally joined up after all of this waiting alone watching all of the lovly banter in this forum but this is the bottom line. I have had no issues with my app and I am sitting just shy of 140 days and I needed to vent. I Have called reps and senators after waiting 90 days since i recived my pin with no avail. All I can say is if you haven't been waiting 90 since you got your pin dont be a jerk and call because some of us would like for them to work on our apps and not listening to people close to the timeline whine about it. My .02 and no one will take away my guns

Interesting about the birthday and date of issue. Since we're rolling around to my birthday in Aug I wonder which side of the fence I'll fall. Sure would be nice if they'd refund these last 4mths to me.
Day 117 now I believe...I can't count anymore...but seems long enough.
BTW, I did an online DL address change and that took a month to get the new one from DPS. They're just slow all around.

Well, I hit day 150! I sent an email to DPS demanding (sort of) an answer to why it's taking so long. If I get an answer, I'll post it.

Next excuse poll:
a) We are interviewing more background checkers.
b) We can't issue any as we are suing ourselves.
c) We have decided the 90 day start after we get your first email
d) No it is 90 SUNdays.
e) My bad
f) Stop picking on me
g) We have moved yours to the top of the pile somewhere along with thousands of others.

Suing themselves? What are they, Wells Fargo (They ARE suing themselves)?
