Thanks! I am out running around town to different stores that arent 30.06 or 07, and taking a few pics of my first open carry. Nobody has been weird, or scared. Except one guy thought i was an officer. Lol. I said no, i just got my license. What a strange feeling though. Open carry is a heavy responsibility. I think i will prefer concealed carry going forward.

Good stuff bro. I would rather have the element of surprise with concealed carry, always have. I feel like I would have a big target on my back if I open carry. I might do it once tho haha.

LMAO, nah bro. Not this weekend. I did my first Wally walk back in 2003. Maybe my first Texas Wally walk. I'm headed to Louisiana this weekend with some brothers. Hopefully it gets here before Saturday!!

So Im new to the board but have been following everyones time lines since I started this process.
application submitted- 11/14/16
fingerprints-11/20/2016
chl class - 11/18/2016
uploaded docs-11/18/2016
background check under review-11/22/2016
print pending- 02/10/2017
mailed- 02/15/2017 (all green)
I've checked the status page 10 times a day (hahaha) every day since 11/23. I had one arrest from 1989 that I did disclose with case number and outcome (dismissed) during the application process. I was not asked for any additional documentation but that background sure did take a while. Good luck to all of you still waiting and I am over 40 so looks like us old guys do have to wait longer

as of right now, there is no update on the dps status website, but I will be looking for something to pop up this week. I am as excited as the rest of you, and hope they continue pushing these applications through in a reasonable amount of time!
Your info should be going into review this week. Mine took 2 weeks before it went into review after submitting it.
Checked this afternoon and still nothing yet, I called the dps office to make sure they got my info (because I did submit it on chrome) and got the we are to busy to answer the phone message. Ill try again tomorrow!

Not my case, I'm 24 and I waited 5 in a half months total.
