Bulls eye. HPD does an investigation and determines one of their own was unsupervised, lied to a court, (quite possibly for years) to get a no-knock warrant. But, the Chief at that time, believes his officers still had probable cause for checking on the house, and maybe the raid itself. The Feds investigation determined the 911 call was false, throwing the entire case out the window. Meanwhile, the two innocent homeowners are still just as dead. How does the Chief sleep at night, much less, keep his job?

I hope the Mayer, the chief and PD would be sued with willful negligent civil right suite for at least $20,000,000 for the 2 deceased.

It’s a sad state of affairs we live in these days. How does it get up to 70 people wrongfully convicted by one corrupt officer?? How does it go on for so long without anyone stepping up to intervene?

He should go for life with no parole.

How many other cops knew about his actions and said nothing?

Life? Eh

For each person that he falsely accused or testified against he should serve the same number of days cumulatively, not just the longest single sentence? IOW, if three people served 1 year each then he should serve three years. It might amount to life once we get a total. We don't even have to wait for a total to lock him up. He should go to prison for the deaths of the Tuttles and then we can add on as we discover more.

Reap what you sow!

My bet is a lot. Many cops are like Democrats. They cover for each other without question. On the other hand. If the persons convicted were known drug dealers who were always getting off through legal loopholes, I can see where a fellow officer might decide to keep quiet when they see the dealer finally getting what they deserve.

The Thin Blue Line is real. When police have to operate in leftist jurisdictions like California I can honestly sympathize that police don't want to be punished for doing the right or necessary thing. But in this case clearly Goines had gone rogue and needed to be taken off the street. Sad that he was allowed to continue until this kind of blowup occurred.

The answer is clear. His supervisors, had they been doing any oversight, would have found his lies, cover ups, illegal warrants, the works. The entire leadership team should be summarily dismissed.

Acevedo knew about this long ago. That's why he tried to cover it up. He only changed his story when it was obvious it couldn't be buried, so he sacrificed the scapegoats to save his own hide.

Probably true for Turner also, but no question about Acevedo.

GOOD. I hope the depositions will allow conflicting statements to be shared and they can all go down.

No way only Goines and the other guy were the two in the loop. A so-called "good" cop that doesn't shed light on bad cops is just as disgusting to me as the bad cop.
