I have a Kimber Eclipse Pro II, and I love mine. I just got through putting a Wilson Combat Magazine Well on mine today, and I picked up some Chip McCormick 10-round magazines for going to the range. The 10-round mags are too big for daily concealed carry (they stick out about an inch from the bottom of the grip) but they'll mean less reloading magazines at the range. I also have Hogue wraparound grips on mine...very comfy and shoots where I point it.

I bought two guns recently:

1) Kahr PM9
2) Browning BuckMark 5.5"

In the last month I have bought a Kimber CDP Pro 4 inch 1911 and a Ruger LCP. Both guns have been great!!!!

I bought a Smith & Wesson M&P 45 last weekend — my third polymer framed pistol, and my first foray into a polymer framed pistol in .45 ACP. The other two are a Keltec P3AT, and an H&K USP Compact .40 which I just sold this past week.

I ran 100 rounds through the M&P yesterday, and it is a great pistol. It's a lot like what you would get if your 5" 1911 eloped with a Glock 21 . Nice low bore axis like on the Glock, but it has a "beaver tail" so the slide doesn't bite you; and a nice narrow width both in slide, grips, and frame like a 1911 (unlike that 2x4 on the Glock). And then the trigger is Glock-like right up to where it breaks, and then it is more like a 1911 trigger with a nice clean break and a pretty short reset. It is a striker fired pistol which is carried "cocked" just like a Glock with a trigger safety reminiscent of the Glock's, but mine also has a frame mounted ambidextrous thumb safety like a 1911's, located just about exactly where you would find it on a 1911. Magazine capacity is 10+1, which puts it right between the 13+1 of a Glock 21 and the 7 or 8+1 of a 1911. Under bonus points, it is a truly ambidextrous pistol with right and left handed slide release levers and a reversible mag release button. In many ways, the M&P 45 is kind of the best of both worlds.

Two cool features: 1) interchangeable back straps so the pistol can be tailored to fit your hand; and 2) the way the cocking serrations are cut into the slide make for a really positive feel and good grip.

Other than getting used to the different trigger, it felt very familiar to me. Shooting it was a lot like shooting a full sized 1911. At 29 oz., it is lighter than my 5" Springfield (40 oz.), but it doesn't seem to kick any harder under recoil — which I attribute to the lower bore height. It seems to shoot right to point of aim. It points very naturally and the sights picked up pretty well (mine has Trijicon night sights on it). It was a freezing cold day at DPC, and we shot small hanging steel plates in the silhouette bay from about 15 yards. I can't tell you the pistol's specific accuracy — partly because I'm only a decent, but not great, shot; and partly because we only shot steel plates instead of paper targets; so there were no holes to observe.

Anyway, it is a fine pistol, and as much as I am a 1911 snob, I would urge someone looking for a polymer .45 to check out the M&P.

HK45. I plan on shooting it for IDPA practice matches this Wednesday. It, like Annoyed's M&P shoots very much like a 1911. It can even be carried cocked and locked.

I agree with you except the part about it being anything like a Glock except for action type! I can't even begin to reach a Glock trigger and the ergonomics on a Glock feels like holding a rectangular piece of plastic with no sculpting for grip. You hit the nail on the head as far as the trigger goes. It is about the same poundage as a Glock but it is smoother and the break is crisper.

The M&P45 is a great gun!

It's a wonderful gun! By "Glock-Like" I was referring specifically to the action, and you're right... ...the trigger is a much shorter reach than the Glock's. I actually found the grip size and angle to be very much like a 1911 (with the smallest of the three palm swells in place).

Today at the Market Hall show, I bought a Kel-Tec PF9 to replace a Ruger LCP I sold, and also picked up a Saiga 7.62X39. Been wanting a Saiga for a while, and found a NIB at AJC Sports booth for $299.95. That was the cheapest I have seen them for in a while.

Kahr PM9 with CT

Last week I sucked it up and bought the S&W 340PD instead of the 442. Wow, what a gun. A .357 out of a 11 ounce gun is quite a deal.

Recoil is not that bad with .38's. When I was at my ranch last weekend I shot easily 50 rounds of .38's after 300+ of 9mm and 45 and it was not a problem. The only problem was when I got ballsy and shot the .357 hydrashocks out of them. After one cylinder my hand was stinging.

Right now I am pocket carrying with an Uncle Mike's IWB holster. I am waiting on a high noon tuckable to come in.

I just picked up another one I could not live without. It is a S&W model 60 pro-series. Night sight installed, nice wood grips, and brushed finished instead of stainless. Its only a five-shot where the SP101 I was looking at was a six-shot. But I love it anyway... No pic just yet.
