"Printing" means a noticeable bulge where a firearm "might be" carried. "Printing" is only illegal if it is to a degree that any reasonable person can tell that the bulge is in fact a gun. If the bulge is non distinguishable from that of a cell phone or PDA, then the "printing" is not illegal.
Long as your shirt is not so tight that the sn# of your gun is readable, then the general public won't know the difference.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Actually...according to PC 43.035(a) it's only illegal if you intentionally fail to conceal the handgun:
Sec. 46.035. UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF HANDGUN BY LICENSE HOLDER. (a) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder carries a handgun on or about the license holder's person under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, and intentionally fails to conceal the handgun.
Some people still thought there was some legal wiggle room there so SB299 was passed and signed by Perry in the most recent legislative session, amending 43.035(a) to read as such:
Sec. 46.035. UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF HANDGUN BY LICENSE
HOLDER. (a) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder carries a handgun on or about the license holder's person under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, and intentionally displays the handgun in plain view of another person in a public place in a manner calculated to cause alarm and not pursuant to a justified use of force or threat of force as described in Chapter 9.
This makes it extra clear that printing is not breaking the law.

For many years, after carrying my Glock 19 immediately behind my right hip, I've found with advancing age that reaching behind me is awkward, slow and at times painful.
Now, I appendix carry so as not to have to overly reach behind me. It's allows much faster access (for me anyway...) and conceals quite nicely.
Note: Appendix carry can be deadly - Should you use this carry method, keep in mind if you negligently depress the trigger while drawing or re-holstering, you're subject to hitting your femoral artery or your gentlemen parts. Obviously, great care must be taken using this method of carry.

Preference is IWB...BUT the pressure bruised a nerve and caused pain down my whole right leg when rolling over in bed. I guess it was the twisting because it didn't bother me sitting, walking, standing. It took 2 months plus to heal, so now it's OWB only.

You just carry with the weapon tucked in your waist band? If thats the case, you're a braver person than I am as there is nothing covering the trigger.
.
Yes, I do. It is not needed for appendix carry. And appendix carry is the best method for CHL.
As for the trigger, there is nothing in my pants small enough to get in the trigger guard.
Its is a myth that holsters increase safety. They don't.
A holster is not a safety device. It is merely meant to hold the weapon and present it more easily for a draw.
Many holsters are downright dangerous and have a long history of NDs. Serpas for one.
And many weapons are dangerous with holsters. The glock is one. A bit of clothing caught during holstering and an ND can occur.

I am glad you brought up Darwin.
A number of people have survived a frisking carrying mexican style and were able to later draw and take out the bad guys.

Is this a first attempt at sarcasm? Genuinely curious here. While some holsters have had some issues with negligent discharges you really can't say that Mexican carry is safer than a holstered firearm. Frankly the one benefit I see to a holster compared to what you're doing now is that you don't have to worry about it sliding down your pants and making a loud clank on the floor. Also while your statement about Glock's and things catching the trigger is true can't the same be said even more loudly about carrying it with nothing covering the trigger? My pants bunch up sometimes, I carry a pocket knife and sometimes other things that could all cause a ND without adequate trigger protection so the whole idea makes my hair stand up.
FYI I appendix carry every day and it's always holstered and my firearm is one of those fancy ones with a thumb safety thingy.

I carried for 10 years or so behind the right hip but switched to appendix carry a couple of years ago.
Right hand appendix, Dale Fricke Archangel
Glock 23
Do not change for weather, just cover garment.
Appendix is fast, can be access on the move or sitting.

Aiwb is by far the easiest way to conceal for skinny rail like me, even a plain t-shirt will do the job as long as it is not to tight.
