I mailed off my Arizona CCP application, fingerprints and cashiers check 4 days prior to submitting my Texas LTC app and supporting documentation online (1/25/16), and honestly thought my Texas LTC would come in sooner than AZ. Time will tell.

Did mine last January and if we are only counting business days:
11 business days from prints to status change.
2 business days later, plastic mailed.
2 business days later, plastic in hand.

84 days total about a year ago. And I would still be waiting if I had not called them.
The clerk found it sidelined in the system and kicked it on through 3 days later in my mailbox.

In the meantime I may consider applying for a license in a different state who has an agreement with Texas. I was in a forum yesterday and people were talking about how it's $25-75 for an LTC in a bunch of other states, no mandatory class, and it took less than 2-3 weeks to get approved.

I have heard about this, but I don't know what hurdles are involved. Yeah, I think this could be an alternative.

I don't know that security clearances have anything to do with it. I held a secret clearance for more that a decade and a TS-SSBI for almost a decade until 2006. I could be wrong, but you probably just got lucky. 72 days and counting.

I 100% agree with TexasVet. If you submitted the exact same way as everybody else, that means your "process" is no different, you just got lucky, IMO.

AZ CWP received in todays mail.
Mailed: 1/21/16
Permit Issued: 3/18/16
Mailed: 3/18/16
Received: 3/21/16

Submitted my Texas LTC app 1/25/16. Still waiting.

92 days, from confirmation email to status change.

12/21/15 - 3/22/16

Plastic is yet to be seen.

All my stuff was submitted January 7th. I'm still waiting.

Acknowledge package 12/28 with 6 weeks message.
Status changed March 7th.
Nothing at the mailbox, beginning to really wonder.

83 days from all in date of January 5th. Status changed March 26 and received plastic March 28.

90 days so far. Mailed Mar 7th but lost or misdelivered, so have to wait 30 BUSINESS days, then call again to cancel, reprint and resend again. Overall a minimum of 100 days. Cant send from Austin to Austin without losing it.

LTC Class - 12/19/15
Initial registration on DPS - 12/29 (was waiting for my new TX DL to arrive)
Fingerprints: 1/4/16
Document submission and confirmation with DPS: 1/5/16
Website Status Change 3/31/16
Spoke with DPS today (4/1) who confirmed plastic was mailed 3/30/16 - Woo Hooooo!

86 days total wait, and that was with some intervention on my part, and perhaps a little help from my State Rep. Scott Turner.
