This type thing and maybe even more creative means of killing large numbers of just everyday Americans is in our future, that's sad for our country, we all know that with each incident the liberal loons will cry for more gun control! We have already seen the mayor of Dallas blame open carry for the attack there. I choose to go about armed, I choose to not be a victim if I can defend myself from the presented threat. What makes me the most upset is to see my children and my grandchildren grow up under these type of threats!
I carry a .45, I have a .45 carbine in my truck, I know not what choices others will take but after a career of trying to save others, I doubt I could not go and meet the threat if it presented it's self

French prosecutor Francois Molins, whose office is in charge of terrorism investigations, said today that the terrorist attacker in the Niece tragedy may have been planning the attack as far back as 2015, and that five suspects are in custody suspected of being accomplices in the July 14 carnage. The suspects are four males (two Franco-Tunisians, a Tunisian, and an Albanian) and one female with dual French-Albanian citizenship.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack though, as yet, no direct evidence has been found showing any connection other than that among the five arrested suspects and the dead attacker. Some of the evidence indicating the months-long planning came from the attacker's smartphone showing searches and photos related to logistics of the attack.

One of my French Facebook friends, a rare conservative in France, reposted a letter from French Procecutors ordering the Nice Security Video footage from the day of the attack erased.

This comes on top of the French government refusing to release the bodies of the victims of the Paris attack as they don't want the victims families to see how their loved ones were tortured.

It seems the truth is often a victim as well.

The truck was on a pathway that was reserved for pedestrians, and from what I can tell wasn't going highway speeds. Whether terrorist or kid with stuck gas pedal, if he is running over people then stopping him is paramount.

On another board that I frequent, one of the posters lives in France. He posted this recently:

Here is pretty much his story, translated to the best of my ability (which is not much).

The man on the bike was identified as a 50 years old named Frank who works at the local airport in Nice.
He was present near the esplanade with his 300cc scooter, and his wife.
As soon as he saw the truck hitting people he told his wife to go away and went after the truck.
He got hit by the truck, fell down and managed to catch the truck again on foot and jumped on the stairs.
He started to hit the driver with his fist through the open window, the driver then reached for a handgun in a bag, pointed it at Frank's face and pulled the trigger.
Nothing happened ... so the driver used the gun as a blunt weapon and hit Frank on the head, making him fall from the truck again.
By then the truck has stopped and the driver is trying to fix his gun and finally opens fire in the direction of the biker who jumped on the ground for cover.
That's when three police officers finally get around the truck and open fire 27 times on the driver.

So it was Frank's intervention that ultimately stopped the truck(for whatever the reason), which gave the police time to position themselves and shoot the driver dead. He's a hero in my book!
