I hear ya', dude. These waiting days just seem to creep by.

I sent it with a return receipt and never received it back in the mail. I know they received my application since it switched to processing, but do you think i should contact them about it anyway? maybe with some contact I can find out what is effecting the application to be completed?

I would definitely use your circumstances as an excuse to call and have them check on your current status. Just act innocent and slightly confused when you call DPS/CHL (i.e., "Hello Ma'am, how are you doin' this fine morning ...I just wanted to make sure that you guys had received my CHL application allright..."), and be cordial with the staff member. I used pretty similar tactics about an hour ago to call and check up on my pending app...and dude, am I ever happy that I did. According to the staff member I spoke with earlier this morning, my application is finally complete and should ship out tomorrow!

Although this was obviously great news, my optimism is a little tempered due to the fact that the DPS website still displays "processing application" for my app. I'm hoping that they simply neglected to update the website, and that my CHL is really and truly squared-away!

I can almost taste those greasy Walmart nachos, dude!

thats awesome to hear man! hopefully you will have the license in hand by this weekend.
I just got off the phone with DPS and the lady was very polite. She transfered my call to the lady that was dealing with my application and I left I message regarding my application. Hopefully she calls back with some answers....

Congrats! That's awesome. Post when your status flips so we will know the delay!

Your status will probably flip tomorrow morning dude. DPS did not return my call this afternoon so hopefully they will in the morning hours. They mentioned that they just had 1 thing remaining until everything is complete, so hopefully the end is near.

uhhh, I got the run-around from DPS this morning . I called and they said the women dealing with my application (tracy) was out this week and wont return until next week and they couldn't provide any information because she was the one with everything.

Did they tell you who was working on your application badkarma?

Sig239, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. No, I was not informed by Rene (the person I spoke with yesterday) of the person's name that handled my application. I sincerely hope that Tracy returns soon, and that you get squared-away quickly.

I'm pleased to announce that, as of today, my status has officially changed to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" on the DPS website!!

We all know what this means...Hamma' Time!!!


I'd also like to commence a big group hug with everyone else here!
