hey all, new here to the forums..
my wife and i both took our chl test april 5th and sent them off april 6th...no word on them yet... both harris county... ole welll wait and see,,, just like christmas but you dont know when its comming :)

I mailed mine in on 6 Apr also. Haven't recieved a PIN either. I called to see how I can confirm that they even recieved the application, and they said to give it until the end of May. I'll wait 'till then and call again. I know they're really backlogged, but it seems there could be an easier way to do this. I think they should send something at least confirming reciept. Otherwise, it will be Jun before they can claim they never got it. Then I get to reapply, I guess. We'll wait and see what happens. Guess it wouldn't be a big deal if I would have thought to maybe send it certified or with some type of delivery confirmation.

welcome aboard. dont worry too much about a PIN just yet, i requested mine via e-mail about a week ago and the website still says "no application" . we are at their mercy i guess.

My app has gone to the next step to "Processing Application" as of May 16th. Took a while but at least its progressing. Looks like DPS are now working on the April applications.

02.07.2009: Completed On-Line Application
02.19.2009: PIN received
03.21.2009: CHL Course Completed (The Sharp Shooter)
04.02.2009: Paperwork Mailed via First Class
05.16.2009: Processing Application
XX.XX.XXXX: Application Approved
XX.XX.XXXX: CHL Received

I'm still waiting on the pin number, I called them last week they said it should show up this week

125 days to be approved for Brazoria County, Now checking the mailbox daily, Wally Walk next

Wow, I checked my status online this morning and I also moved to "Processing Application". I know I have a while to go again, but it's great seeing something change on the web site. Now I get to watch and agonize over "Processing Application"

hey, it really does appear that april applications are starting to get the dust blown off them.

My app still says "Packet mailed to Applicant". When I mailed it, I sent it w/ confirmed tracking, so I know the packet was received on April 24. I filled the app out online, so I got my PIN when they mailed me the app, but apparently they haven't started on my packet yet (fingerprints/photos/class completion/affidavits/etc).

the wheels turn slowly...but they are turning.

Keep in mind that DPS got my application about 3 weeks before they got yours and mine only just changed to "Processing". You may have to wait another 3 weeks to see that status change.
