Still waiting on mine. I sent mine a couple of days after some of the approvals here. It still says processing application. I have an out of state background check (CA) so I am thinking it might be little longer for me.

Sent the apps in this morning for Mrs. OldSchool (I keep asking her to register on the forum, but she won't decide on a user name...) and me.
The packets arrived at DPS on 12/23. Status today (12/29) still says "Packets delivered to applicant." Might not be anyone in the office during the holiday weeks, I suppose, so we expect an automatic 2-week delay.
And, Mrs. OldSchool is now registered on the forum as DynaBlue!

Mine got approved today, so I wouldn't fret too much. Someone is still burning the midnight oil.

Thanks, and Congrats!
(and apologies to DPS for doubting them....)

While the DPS website is better than nothing, it would be kinda nice if they could list what's going on with it - such as waiting for background check from xxxx county, or whatever. As it is now, once the status reaches processing application, it'll be stuck there for a long time with no change until suddenly you find the application is completed.

Alright! This is incredible service by DPS :-) Let's keep the 30 Day Club Alive for as long as possible DPS!!!
Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
For reference, I definitely checked status of my CHL App last night @ 11:30pm and it was still processing! This morning, around 7:40am, I checked and the above is my results! What a day

12/16/09: DPS Received Packet
12/30/09: Application Complete
14 DAYS?????????? You gotta be kidding me! *faint*
Gadzooks G26TR that's unbelievable! Super congrats!
DPS MUST be trying to push through as many apps as they can before 12/31 to get the numbers up.....that's all I can figure out.
14 days is about the length of time DPS took to show "processing application" AFTER they received my packet.

I had hoped that the plastic would arrive today, although it's just a little soon. I was hoping to have it before the post office shutdown over New Year's. Ah, well .. patience is a virtue (so I've been told). It'll be here in the new year .. maybe Saturday?

On review of many signatures, it appears that the average is right around 4 PO business days. That would put mmaness plastic delivery @ Monday, 1/4 and my plastic deligvery @ Tuesday, 1/5.
I think I've seen a 2 day record in someone's signature, but I'v also seen some 5 day turnarounds...
Is it bad luck to pick up your concealment holster(s) before receiving plastic - like buying furniture before closing home - LOL??!! I picked up two leather Bianchi holsters from GT Distributors yesterday:
1) Model 100 Professional (IWB Clip-On) &
2) Model 5 Black Widow (low/close profile on belt)
I aslo picked up a Blackhawk Sportster SERPA + Paddle (OWB w/Traditional Polymer Blend) from Academy Wednesday afternoon! Afterwords, I read a few negative posts on this holster so will continue discussion in that appropriate forum area! I will say that it's definitely the most comfortable and 2nd (to IWB) in quickness to "put on" out of the three. Definitely quickest to draw from until I train w/other OWB holster.

Let's keep the under 30 days roll alive. I've been checking the status of my license every day. Thought I would give it a break since it's a holiday. After reading the last few posts, decided to check the status even though I checked it last night.....
Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
Will be shopping for holsters this weekend.
12/12/09: Took CHL Class
12/14/09: Sent off packet to DPS
12/18/09: Processing application
1/1/10: Application complete
1/6/10: CHL received
Edited to add dates.

My guess is that they update their website overnight for the previous day's activity. A few of us have noticed that checking early in the morning showed the application to be completed even after checking the previous night. If my guess is correct, checking multiple times during the day won't show a change of status.
It's not bad luck to get a holster before you get your plastic. I got two to be ready before it gets here ... a Crossbreed Supertuck and a Safepacker. So I'm ready to go whenever the plastic arrives.
