Still no update when I check my status. I'm resisting the urge to also mail all of my documents via snail mail because the website did say wait 30 days for an update. I'm mainly curious if anyone else has submitted a completely new application online, and how long did it take to get an update and plastic in hand. I'm hoping this government shutdown business isn't affecting wait times.

I was wondering the same thing about the government shutdown. My status is currently on background check and it updated just yesterday, hopefully it changes within the next day or so then we'll see.

Well, it's encouraging that you got any kind of update during the shutdown. Perhaps it will not affect state government as much. I could understand it might affect the background check portion because that's federal. However, we were at our FFL dealer Thursday picking up three firearms we ordered and had to wait in store while they ran both the background checks. It did not take very long, so I am hopeful! On the other hand now I have my carry weapon and I can't carry it yet so I am even more impatient!

I haven't even made it to Background check yet... So there maybe a lot of applications due to the decreased hours or requirements for renewals. Just my current logic on the current trend.
