I count 25 buildings with partial exclusion, and 22 with complete exclusion. Most of the "partial" exclusions seem to list significant numbers of rooms. In addition, it seems that they banned carry in all the dorms. This seems to be in clear violation of the law, which states "The president or officer may not establish provisions that generally prohibit or have the effect of generally prohibiting license holders from carrying concealed handguns on the campus of the institution."

I see what you did. You missed my instructions to scroll to the right. The list is of all university spaces. You have to scroll to the right to see which ones are off limits.

They held pretty true to Labs and Children.
Yes, I counted 134 buildings (or at least line items), and only 13 had partial exclusions. None were completely off-limits.
Maybe someone can explain what I'm missing. I pulled this list into Excel:

http://www.uh.edu/police/campus-carry/M ... endix1.pdf

There are 169 locations listed. Of those, 26 have partial exclusions and 22 have total exclusions. 20 of the partial exclusions have no data in the column indicating where carry is not prohibited. That makes it look like those are total exclusions. So that makes 42 buildings that are fully off limits to concealed carry. I suspect that number is high because their list is inaccurate, but either way, that makes for a lot of prohibited places.

I haven't fully walked around to see which buildings are completely off limits, but majority of the rooms you see listed are laboratories or lab classrooms. We knew this was going to happen.

For example, I'm currently attending Anatomy 2 Lab in the Science Teaching Laboratory Building and although there are obvious signs up on each classroom door, I am allowed to walk in and through that building. The building and the restrooms are not off limits. The good news here is they are not making us walk all the way around buildings.

As for the residences, (from the Daily Cougar) UH won’t allow guns in any residence halls except Calhoun Lofts (with some exceptions in Cougar Village I and II). This is different in comparison to other universities: Texas A&M University plans to allow concealed handguns in all residence halls, University of Texas at Austin will only allow concealed carry in what’s typically called “married student housing.”

I just went to the link and counted off the screen, so I may have missed a page or two.

Here's the news story that ran in our paper. It's actually written mostly in the middle (slightly surprised): http://thedailycougar.com/2016/08/01/ca ... need-know/
