I just saw this. I know he had been in bad health for a while.
What a very talented guy. RIP Leon Russell.
Not one of his better known songs, but one of my favorites is "Tight Rope" from the 1972 Carney Album.

Most people have never seen a picture of him before he had long hair and his trademark beard.
This is from a 1965 TV show Shindig!, where Leon plays piano with Glen Campbell and others.
He looks totally different, but once he starts singing I can instantly recognize his distintive voice.

Two songs come to mind:

When I was 20 I dropped out of college and enlisted in the Army. Vietnam was very real, and often in the evening during basic training someone would put this song on and we'd all sing along. (Mild Profanity)

I did go to Vietnam, and like everyone else came back somewhat different than when I left. I can never listen to this second song without crying.

Progressive Rock legend Greg Lake has passed after a long battle with cancer at age 69 years. With Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer, Lake was responsible for some of the most startling musical images ever Ive ever experienced.

There are many for sure I find to be sentimental and bring back good memories. One that immediately came to mind is,
"These Eyes" by the Guess Who.

My grandson turned me onto this song. I cant say I'm a die-hard fan of the band, but this cover really nails it. Even Simon and Garfunkle reportedly contacted them to give them a thumbs up.
