Wow, they respond to email pretty fast.
I mailed off my application and later that day was "ambushed" with a divorce. Of course, this has left me with a different address than what I put on my application. Yesterday, I received a notice that I could check my status online and I showed to be progressing along at what seems like a decent rate. I called and was instructed to email my change of address info. Within five minutes, I had a response that my address had been changed in their system.
So, my process so far is:
04/26/10 - Packet mailed
04/28/10 - USPS shows it was delivered
05/03/10 - My payment cleared
05/19/10 - Letter received with information to check status
05/20/10 - Change of address requested and granted
06/02/10 - Fingerprints : Complete
06/08/10 - Background Check : Complete
06/11/10 - Concealed Handgun License : Mailed
06/17/10 - Licensed - WOO HOO!
Now, I continue my waiting game. Its not so bad. With a divorce going on I'm occupied with so many other things that I'm not getting too antsy over this.

Me too, since 5/15, it seems that it has come to a dead stop again.

That has been the theme since I started (and probably well before that).
Things would not happen for 2 weeks, then something, then nothing a week or so, then something will happen again.
But in total, I would guess, from the past month or so of applications, that about 30 days from the DPS receipt date, if you had no holds up (Census Fingerprints may have cost a week, and any paperwork issues). So while I know exactly where you are in anticipation, at about 30 days (or so) you should see "approved" or "mailed"
Waiting stinks, but its only for a short term, till you are

and not

Stuck there a week too. I really want to call or email to see if the website just hasn't been updated but I don't want to bother them.
