Brian and I had a great time with you guys today - at last count, I think we had about 25 people out. We enjoyed meeting everyone, and getting to try out some firearms that were new to us. I hope that we can make this an annual or semi-annual get-together!! We had a blast, and look forward to many more to come!

C-dub wrote:It was a fun day. I didn't shoot as much as I thought I was going to and that is fine. My daughter, H-dub, got to shoot her M&P15-22 rifle and she did well. TBM's two kids also got to shoot it and liked it. I may have cost them a little more money. Oops! ;-)

Baldeagle was right, we did have more food than we needed. It was all good, well, all that I could put in. I couldn't try everything.
I got my fair share. Lumbered around like a beached whale after lunch. :biggrinjester:

For those of you that couldn't make it, it was well worth the trip. Like C-dub, I didn't shoot much, but I had a good time. And I learned that a Mosin Nagant can crack concrete in an enclosed space. Wow that rifle was loud!

I shot five rounds through PawPaw's AR with a ACOG - still can't see where I'm hitting - too dang old to see I reckon.

Mega dittos.

While we were having a good time shooting I didn't hear my phone get a message. I just read the message sent by our youngest daughter that her fiance completed his CHL class and scored 245 with a Browning HP I loaned him. :anamatedbanana He is new to shooting and has only had one outing with me and two or three with our daughter who already has her CHL.

Very nice. I also had a slew of messages from a few people. That Mosin would have been REAL nasty without the butt pad. Very thankful it was there!

Sorry we didn't make it out. I knew we had a class scheduled when you all picked the date. But, not wanting to put a damper on things, didn't say anything. We will work to make the next one.

Hopefully, next time we do it, I can bring the smoker out... Did you guys have any problems from Elmfork with a grill or whatever out there?

Ribs can cook in 4 hours... I could probably stick 30-40 racks of (St Louis cut Spare) ribs in it easily :D

The only requirement (that I can recall) was no unattended open flames. That might put the kabosh on smoking for an extended period of time, as the bbq area was across the range from where we were shooting. Would have to check on that one.

Wow, what a great time and it truly was a pleasure meeting everyone. I agree that we need to try and make this an annual event. Who knows, maybe we can get those southern boys and girls up here too.

I want to pass along my thanks to Moby - His help in getting things set up and also inviting Chris from DAPS to come out and talk with us.
AndyC, thanks for your help too with the range and getting our spots squared away. Sorry I couldn't stay for trap shooting as the kiddos were not in the mood to wait on Dad.

And, thanks to everyone that came out and made it an enjoyable experience.

CDub, I'll PM you my bank account inf so you can wire me money for the 2 each 15-22s I am going to have to buy now. :biggrinjester: It is your fault and I think it is only fair that you contribute a third. Thanks again for allowing the kiddos to use the M&P 15-22. They enjoyed it a lot and TBM and I will be buying one soon, I'm sure.
