The arrested guy should sue the city of SA to clean up its ordinance. NOW!

There are alot of bullies with badges here in San Antonio.

We can't really guess what's going on behind the scenes, but it sure does sound like a scenario where the ordinance provides the PD cover to "solve the problem at hand" -IE take people to jail without having to worry too much about it being a false arrest. The problem at hand - a gun in public - is then solved. The offender got what he had coming to him for being an advocate - an arrest record, hours-days in jail, and the charges get dropped so the cycle can repeat itself.

Honestly, I think the first couple of officers did the right thing most likely per policy... If in doubt, call a supervisor. What happens after is all supervisor.

Use of the taser is what makes this a litigious event, IMHO.

When any form of Government creates ordinances or Laws infringing on a Constitutionally Protected Natural Right, it's the duty of ALL Citizens to disobey them entirely. LEO Citizens as well. Imagine that. An unconstitutional act ignored by ALL Citizens. I think that would send a clear message to the "would be ruler politicians" that our Liberties will not be messed with.

The taser thug needs to be removed from the ranks. He's unfit to be a Leader of American Citizen LEO's.

LOL when I went through that portion of my training, the 2 SGT's that were holding me ran as soon as they could saying SGT P is gonna kill somebody. the young man gets props for not being like me, he was bucking the system and no matter how wrong the system he maintained his calm. the supervisor needs his tail flat cut off and the city needs a monetary, statutorily poignant reminder that they are not god, junior or the spook but rather just the normal police dept. of any town Texas. SA has a long standing history kinda like Philadelphia PA of trying to set the standard and refusing to obey state law

Well yes since people are innocent until proven guilty, but assault is already a crime so I'm not really sure how ytour comment is supposed to apply here.

Would that be assault?

I'm 100% positive San Antonio is not the Texas Legislature. I'm not so sure mcmanus hasn't consented to being shocked based on his public statements about this.
