Straight party line votes on anti-gun amendments. Let there be no doubt that Texas Democrats are anti-gun, with very few exceptions.

Sen. Rodriguez, "another common sense amendment" - Democrat code for "anti-gun."

"Common Sense" which is neither common nor sensible.

He's asking for yearly training?

Agreed. Sad display of ignorance.

A great reason to support NRA / TSRA / Texas Firearms Coalition to help educate our elected officials.

I support the second amendment....BUT.

Yeah, sure you support it.

Chas, you earlier mentioned any Zafferini amendment would be a poison pill, but they accepted her retention training amendment. What are your thoughts on it?

Do you have a link to that comment? The amendment that was accepted doesn't add anything except inclusion of something to the classroom portion of the class. I would rather have not had it, but it doesn't hurt.

ok, this "amendment" is maybe interesting, but should it be on this bill?

If he is so concerned about it, why didn't he introduce his own bill to deal with it?

And here's the additional training and additional fee, because, you know, of the additional costs of law enforcement to...you know, enforce. Another re-run...and moved to table.

On that page, you mentioned Ellis and Zafferini were going to propose amendments designed to kill the bill, which is why I was surprised to see one of hers accepted. I haven't read her amendment so was hoping people more informed than I had looked into it and were sure it wasn't a poison pill.
